Shock & Awe

That's how I felt seeing these babies that I last photogaphed just a short while ago for their newborn pictures. They have changed so much in what seems to me, to be a blink of an eye. I almost hate to do these baby plans because I get so attached to these babies, and inevitably, they will move away in a year or two and it's hard to say good bye. Anyways, it was a busy week  photographing babies, children & families. There will be lots to see in the next few days.

This first little guy had smiles for me, as long as I didn't disappear behind the big black box (camera) but he had the biggest smiles for his two favorite people! Such a sweetheart.Menza_080627_3125 Menza_080627_3081_b&w Menza_080627_3081_b&w Menza_080627_3272

Class of 2009 - Nebraska!

No, that's not a typo. This Class of 2009 senior lives in Nebraska and flew out to beautiful Whidbey Island for her senior pictures! Yes, she has ties to here, as a former military brat, she spent alot of her life living here on the island and wanted her senior pictures taken here as well.  The Evergreen state is vastly different from what I've seen of the flat plains of Nebraska and I can't say that I blame her.

"D" is a beautiful girl who seems to know what she wants out of life. I feel honored that she chose Moments In Time by Lori Photography to capture her memories of this time in her life and her memories of this beautiful Island. Here are a few "sneak previews" from her session. I should have your full gallery up within a couple of days.

Sneak previews

I love a good surprise, so I'm always torn about showing a couple of sneak previews,  and then how many to show when I do. I have to keep telling myself that I'm not spoiling the surprise but whetting the appetite for more.

Meet the "L" family. Dad just returned home from deployment to these two adorable cuties and a beautiful wife. The baby is just beginning to take her first steps. She has these gorgeous blue eyes and two pigtails with bows... can you say CUTE?? Toddling around, playing peek-a-boo around trees and reverting to crawling every now and then. And big brother is so sweet... picking mom & little sister flowers. The handsome little man is going to have girls chasing him with those big brown eyes. Thank you, "G & J"! You were troopers despite our cold June weather!

A new big sister

It's always an honor to photograph a family. And that honor just grows when I'm called to photograph that family a second or third time. I love to watch the children grow and this family is definitely no exception. "A" is adorable and full of personality, and is now a big sister! I think she just gets cuter every time I see her. That gorgeous curly hair with the huge blue eyes. The new baby, "little A" is following right in his big sister's shoes. Such a handsome little man. I honestly don't know if I've ever seen a baby with that much hair. He's already had three haircuts and he's only four months old! A happy little guy with such gorgeous blue eyes. A little ladies man who just flirts with you. I'm upset that the Navy is moving them away, and now I'm going to have to travel to the East coast to photograph them and watch them grow!  With so many clients having moved to the East coast, I may just have to take a working vacation out there next Spring (when the weather here is drab & depressing and the heat & humidity isn't too bad yet out there!). "M" family, you will be missed! Thank you for the honor of photographing your beautiful family.

The "W" Family

When I consult with a family before their session, I'm always trying to make sure that the older kids (non-toddler) don't come into the session with preconceived notions that they need to sit still and put on the "say cheese" grin. With these two boys, I don't think I needed to worry about either of those! Mom & Dad must get plenty of excercise trying to keep up with these two cuties, cuz I don't think they sat still for longer than a second. I can only imagine how hard it's going to be on Mom to be away from them for the next six months. I hope that I suceeded in making the session relaxed, fun and captured only good memories for you, "D & D".  My thoughts & prayers go with you. Thank you for the honor of photographing your beautiful family.

The Newest Baby "S"

Congratulations to the "S" family! It seems as if it was just yesterday that I was photographing the 2nd addition to the "S" family, and now I have the honor of photographing the 3rd addition as well. I adore your children and want to thank you for the priviledge of documenting your growing family. Without further adieu, meet beautiful baby "M"...Img_1014_067620jpg

Oak Harbor Senior

Class of 2008! Where has the year gone? I did a split session on this very soon to be graduate - with his yearbook picture last fall and a beach session a couple of weeks ago. I wish "R" all of the best.Emmett_080512_0014jpg Emmett_080512_0023jpg

Family Fun

This family has it all... each other and the best luck ever. Not too many people schedule their family portrait session at the beach in April and get a beautiful spring... almost summer like day(for Washington anyways). Without checking tide tables, we hit the low tide, awesome, sandy beach And not only that, but they have me for a photographer ;-) so I know they have the best luck. It was so enjoyable to watch the kids play barefooted on the beach. Their enthusiasm spilled over to the adults watching them and life was just good. Boy, I love my job... especially with great people for clients, like this family. Wollin_0178_bw45jpg Wollin_002307jpg Wollin_010730jpg Wollin_003509jpg

Baby "L"

I know, my titles aren't very original tonight, but with several newborn baby sessions in a matter of days, I just couldn't come up with original titles for each of them.

Today's session was with a family who knows how to have fun. They have a great sense of humor and roll with comes their way. I don't believe I have ever laughed so hard at a session. This does have it's down fall as it is really imperative to hold a camera still to get really sharp images!  Despite that, we got some more awesome images. I thought that work wasn't supposed to be fun ;-)

Baby "C"

Baby "C" started off the session with what I like to call the "don't take my picture" pose. As his mom laid him down on this gorgeous red chair, he immediately put his arm over his face and was quite content to just stay that way. We had to coax him a little and convince him that being a model is hard work but well worth the effort. As one of my baby plan babies, you can look forward to see more of this beautiful baby boy in a couple of months. Img_9945 Img_0103 Img_0011_sepia
